|"When my husband and I decided to remodel our basement I was overwhelmed with where to begin. We met with Steve, told him what we wanted and he served as general contractor to bring in experts and coordinate the work to be done. He was very professional, courteous and creative in the suggestions to ensure the basement would be one we would enjoy. He assured that everything was done in a timely and high quality manner.
Steve took charge right the from the start and kept us very informed along the way. If we were busy at work, he would be at the house to meet the sub-contractors. He even met us at building supply stores to guide us in choosing the products that would fit within our budget and meet the needs of the vision we wanted for the end result. Steve’s work was high quality and we trusted Steve every step along the way and love our new basement. We highly recommend Steve to help you turn your dream into reality!

"We recently needed to have our main bathroom remodeled, without hesitation we knew that we wanted Steve School to do the work. Steve has done many things around our house and we have never been disappointed.
Steve also has the best subcontractors when it comes to things out of his scope, IE: Plumbing and Electrical.
Steve and his subcontractors are especially in tune with what we are looking for as the final outcome, they also will answer any questions we have about why it was done a certain way.
We will continue to contact Steve for any and all of our construction needs. When you see what happens to others on TV when they hire a contractor, it’s comforting to know that when Steve is doing our work, we’ll never be on TV as one those scammed people.
Scott and Sue,
|"After two failed attempts with two other "handymen" listed in the local Bargain Bulletin, it was recommended to me to call Steve.
I called Steve and we set up a work preview date. After ordering material for my project and setting up a work date, Steve was on site, on time with a fair hourly rate, a fair trucking fee and did not add on one penny to the material he went and picked up, by showing me the invoice. Also, no charge for lengthy conversations he and I had in excess of the work performed!
My wife and I were impressed enough to contact Steve back days later to complete other work. Again we more than satisfied with the results of those projects and the bill.
Steve was straight with us to refuse projects that his ability was beyond him, but recommended alternatives. We did not know Steve or his business until October 8, 2013. It was a cold call to him, and a third and last call to a handyman business as we now have our handyman!"
|"Our sump pump failed this spring causing water to back up into our basement. The carpet was ruined and the walls were wet 6 to 8 inches up from the floor.
Steve worked with us to determine the best way to handle the restoration. Remodeling our basement included re-framing the walls, replacing and repairing the drywall, plastering and painting. Steve rebuilt the cabinets that were damaged. Steve was present during any time that a sub-contractor was in our home. Our basement looks better than we had anticipated.
Steve's qoute for the work was complete and fair. He kept the area clean and neat while he worked. He came to work when he said he would and completed the job on time. Steve helped us pick out a sump pump that has a battery back up so we will not have to worry if the power fails during a storm.
When we are in need of a professional handyman, we will be calling Steve!"
|"We would highly recomend Steve for anything that you need done around the house. Steve has remodeled our bathroom, built a mini-deck off our door, put up paneling in our basement and anything else we have asked of him. If he is unable to do the task, he has professional, respectuful and courteous sub contractors who perform the tasks, which include: plumbing, electrical, drywall/skim coating. My wife and I will not hesitate to contact Steve for future projects."
|"Last summer Steve completed the interior of our garage. It already had the wallboard on, but needed to be mudded, sanded and trimmed. He gave me a very fair estimate, completed the work in a timely fashion, and even allowed me to assist to help keep the cost down.
His work was so good that I asked him to give us an estimate of what it would cost to finish our basement adding a rec room, bedroom, and a bathroom. He shopped at various local lumber stores for prices and quality and provided an estimate that turned out to be within a hundred dollars when the final bill was paid. (This was thousands of dollars lower then another contractor, and included more finished square footage!)
Steve did much of the work himself but also served as a contractor in bringing in other trades such as electrical and plumbing. When others where here, he would supervise their work to assure it was up to his high standards. He always showed up when he said he would, completed the job within the time frame promised, and even brought treats for our dog!
Before Steve left after completing the job, he insisted on fixing our front door (at no cost), because he said it bothered him that it was slightly off within the frame and sticking. That is a sign of someone who is willing to go beyond the expected and make sure everything is done to his high expectations.
If you want someone who is fair, honest, dedicated, and produces a quality finished product; I suggest you contact Steve with Schoolhouse Homeworks."
